We aspire for Christ Sanctuary to be:

• A place where Jesus is presented as the centre of God's purpose for humanity and creation.
• A place where God's Word is preached and taught with clarity and conviction.
• A place where faith is tampered by a biblical realism that is not hindered by legalism or hyper-spirituality.
• A place where the issues of worldviews, philosophy, faith and culture are openly debated.
• A place where a steady voice speaks to a shifting culture.
• A place where healing, forgiveness and reconciliation are sought and meaningful relationships fostered.

We aspire to build a church that:

• Submits to the sovereignty of God and lives to His glory.
• Inspires people to grow to be like Jesus.
• Seeks God's will and purpose through prayer.
• Helps people fulfil the great commission through their calling and gifting.
• Mentors younger people to prepare them for leadership.

We are “theologically conservative” and “culturally liberal”

• We are theologically conservative in that we gladly choose to be restrained by a veritable and an unfailing evangelical orthodoxy. We do not feel bound to absorb and accomodate whatever happens to be in vogue in our time.
• We are culturally liberal in that we do not feel bound to stay out of touch with contemporary culture. Instead, we are free to explore and understand the mood of our culture in order to engage with it and exploit it to our advantage.

Vision of a context for identity

We are currently working towards a geographical space in our city through which to clearly expresses our missional intention. We believe Summerhill offers a strategic position for our unique missional thrust. The demographics of the hill provides a huge and robust evangelistic potential, with the additional benefit of its close proximity to Massey University and International Pacific College.
